FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mars, PA — October 13, 2016 — Wieland Concast announced today that it will host the Copper & Brass Servicecenter Association’s (CBSA) annual training event at their Wakeman, Ohio, facility on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. CBSA member company stakeholders have been invited to attend this unique on-site learning opportunity as well as a networking reception on the evening of October 18.

As described on the CBSA website, CBSA is “a community of brass service centers, mills and platers working together to promote the use of and growth opportunities for copper and brass mill products.” As a mill, Wieland Concast is a technical member of CBSA and was selected among other applicants to give service center members first-hand access to Wieland Concast's manufacturing processes and products.

The Wieland Concast leadership team will be guiding service center members through a day-long training experience designed to help them grow and enhance their businesses through education and communication with other industry leaders. The program will include a classroom-style presentation covering Wieland Concast's history, the production process for continuous cast copper alloys, and information about Wieland Concast's quality commitment and standards as well as descriptions of end-use markets, customer requirements, and product offerings.

The day will also include a tour of Wieland Concast's Birmingham, Ohio facility, including demonstrations of their scrap receiving process, testing procedures, and horizontal continuous cast production. Participants will also be able to view Wieland Concast's on-hand inventory, the largest within the industry.

“We are honored to be selected by CBSA for this unique opportunity to share our experiences and knowledge with others in the industry,” explained Wieland Concast President Al Barbour. “The sharing of our insights with these service center members is an important way to continue to advance innovation and overall performance in our industry.”

Wieland Concast is the largest producer of specialty copper alloys in the world with two production facilities located in Mars, Pa. and Birmingham, Ohio. Manufacturing capabilities include continuous cast copper alloys in bars, rods, tubes and rectangles as well as custom alloys, lead-free alloys and wrought drawn alloys.
